Is it possible to use a DP type flow tx as a mass flow meter in specific application?
Yes …like steam mass flow measurement. With Multivariable transmitter (MVT) is used for indirect mass flow measurement. Dp tx has an RTD attached externally…and also pressure is measured.
SO, with DP tx we measure volumetric flow, with temp and pressure sensor density is calculated. With volumetric flow and density, mass flow is measured.
